Before you publish

The fields marked [TO COMPLETE] below require your real company/publisher information and cannot be filled in automatically. Replace them, then have the final text reviewed by a qualified lawyer for your jurisdiction before this page goes live.

This Cookie Policy explains how thisrig.com (the "Site") uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet or smartphone) when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences and choices, measure audience, and — where you allow it — display and personalise advertising. Similar technologies (such as browser local storage, pixels and tags) may be used for comparable purposes; references to "cookies" in this policy include those technologies. In particular, the Site records your consent choice using your browser's local storage, not an HTTP cookie — see below.

Categories of cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary: required for the Site to function — in practice, this is limited to the entry that records your cookie consent choice (stored in local storage, see below) and any security-related cookie Cloudflare may set to keep the Site available and protected from abuse. These do not require your consent and cannot be disabled through the consent banner.
  • Audience measurement (analytics): help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. These are only loaded — via Google Tag Manager — after you consent.
  • Advertising and personalisation: used by Google AdSense/Ads to serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance and — with your consent — personalise the ads you see. These are only loaded after you consent.

How consent actually works on this Site

Before any advertising or analytics tag can load, the Site sets Google Consent Mode v2 signals (ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) to "denied" by default. Tags themselves are deployed through Google Tag Manager (GTM), a container that lets us add or change tags (for example Google Analytics or Google AdSense) without editing the Site's code — so the exact set of active tags can change over time without a rebuild.

When you click Accept or Decline on the consent banner, all four Consent Mode signals above are updated together to "granted" or "denied" — the banner currently offers a single accept/decline choice covering analytics and advertising together, not a separate toggle per category. Your choice is written to your browser's local storage under the key rp-consent and read back on every page load so the banner does not reappear.

Third-party cookies

Once you consent, cookies may be set by third parties, in particular:

If you follow an affiliate or CPI (cost-per-install) link to a game, app store or partner site, that destination site may set its own cookies once you land on it; it is responsible for its own cookies and processing under its own privacy/cookie policy, not this one.

These third parties are responsible for their own cookies and processing, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Cookies and technologies used

The table below lists the main cookies and similar technologies used on the Site. It is provided for transparency and is kept up to date; exact names and durations set by third parties may vary and are ultimately controlled by Google, not by us.

Advertising and analytics tags are only loaded after you give consent via the banner (Google Consent Mode v2 default is "denied" until you accept).

Managing your consent

When you first visit the Site, a consent banner lets you Accept or Decline non-essential cookies, or open this page via the banner's "Manage" button to read more before deciding. Strictly necessary items are always active. We store a record of your choice (see rp-consent above) so we do not ask again on every visit.

Withdrawing or changing your consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the button below. It clears your stored choice (rp-consent) and reloads the page so the consent banner appears again, letting you choose afresh. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse cookies, delete existing ones, or notify you when a cookie is set. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect how the Site works. Instructions are available for:

Cookie lifetime

Cookies are either session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain for a defined period). The lifetime of each cookie depends on its purpose and provider: Google's advertising and analytics cookies generally do not exceed 13 months. Your consent preference (rp-consent) is not a cookie and has no automatic expiry — it persists in local storage until you reset it (above) or clear your browser's site data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
