Star Trek Fleet Command's biggest recurring PvE event just got easier to catch. Infinite Incursions returned on September 12 running the full 24 hours, reversing a shorter format the event had used in recent rotations, so more Commanders across time zones get a real window to participate rather than racing a compressed clock.

A longer event, and a friendlier endgame

The scheduling change is small on its own, but it fits a pattern Scopely has been building all year: lowering the barrier to Fleet Command's higher-stakes content without diluting it. Regional start times still stagger to hit peak play hours — APAC opened at 9 AM UTC, EU at 4 PM UTC, and the Americas at 9 PM UTC — so the event still favors active play over passive grinding, just with more total runway to get there.

That same accessibility push runs through Update 90: Starfleet Academy, which introduced Duo Wave Defense, a cooperative two-player take on the game's wave-survival content, alongside refreshed Battle Passes meant to give Commanders more ways to progress at their own pace. Pairing up for defense content is a meaningful shift for a game whose identity has largely been built around solo fleet management and large-alliance warfare — it's a bridge between the two.

The steady drip of canon content

Underneath the structural changes, Fleet Command keeps doing what's kept it near the top of mobile strategy charts for years: mining Star Trek canon for new systems. Recent additions include Transporter Patterns, Gorn Eviscerator ship systems, an adjustable hostile cap for players who want more (or less) chaos in open space, and new Officer Abilities tied to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds characters Scotty and M'Benga — timed to keep the game's crossover content aligned with what's currently airing in the franchise.

What's changed recently, at a glance:

  • Infinite Incursions — back to a full 24-hour run, latest event held September 12–13.
  • Update 90: Starfleet Academy — added Duo Wave Defense and reworked Battle Pass progression.
  • New systems — Transporter Patterns, Gorn Eviscerator ship tech, adjustable hostile cap.
  • New Officers — Strange New Worlds' Scotty and M'Benga join the ability roster.

Alliance-level PvP and territory control remain the real endgame here, and none of this month's changes touch that core loop directly — but easing entry into cooperative and event content is exactly the kind of adjustment a seven-plus-year-old live-service game makes when it wants to keep newer Commanders from bouncing off its more demanding systems.

Fleet Command isn't reinventing itself; it's smoothing the edges around a formula that's already worked for years, betting that a more approachable endgame keeps its alliance wars stocked with fresh recruits.
