War Thunder's major update Sky Odyssey has been the backbone of the game's content calendar this cycle, and Gaijin is still rolling out follow-up vehicles and fixes on top of it. The update's headline addition was a genuinely global spread of new vehicles — aircraft and armor from Greece, the CA-27, India's Arjun Mk 1 main battle tank, and Indonesia's Harimau — alongside Darwin Hill, a new Ground Battles map set in the Falkland Islands.

New vehicles keep landing on top of the base update

Gaijin didn't stop at Sky Odyssey's initial vehicle list. The multi-role MiG-35 joined the game on September 14, giving top-tier air players another modern Russian platform to research toward. Around the same time, the EMBT — a genuine hybrid combining a Leopard 2 chassis with a Leclerc turret, originally a real-world demonstrator project between KNDS France and Germany — was also added, giving ground forces players a distinctive top-tier option that exists nowhere else in the game's more conventional national trees.

Two days later, on September 16, Update 2.59.0.13 fixed a scoring bug that had been preventing the Air Realistic Battles multiplier from applying correctly to mission score earned during the ongoing Space Program event — a small fix, but the kind that matters directly to anyone grinding that event's rewards track.

War Thunder Mobile runs its own calendar

While the PC and console version works through Sky Odyssey, War Thunder Mobile is on its own release schedule: Season 37's Major Content Update shipped separately on September 3. Gaijin has kept the mobile version's content cadence distinct from the flagship game for a while now, tailoring update sizes and pacing to mobile hardware and playtime patterns rather than mirroring the desktop schedule beat for beat.

What's new across the War Thunder ecosystem right now:

  • Sky Odyssey — major update adding Greek, CA-27, Indian Arjun Mk 1, and Indonesian Harimau vehicles, plus the new Darwin Hill (Falklands) Ground Battles map.
  • September 14 — MiG-35 and EMBT hybrid tank added.
  • September 16 — Update 2.59.0.13 fixes the Space Program event's Air RB scoring multiplier.
  • September 3 — War Thunder Mobile Season 37 Major Content Update ships separately.

For a game that's been adding vehicles across land, air, and sea for over a decade, the challenge has never really been running out of content — it's keeping an enormous, historically sprawling vehicle roster balanced against itself. Sky Odyssey's spread of nations rarely seen at this level of detail, paired with a genuine oddity like the EMBT, shows Gaijin is still finding new corners of military history to mine even this deep into the game's life.

With top-tier additions like the MiG-35 landing on top of an already loaded update, the real question for competitive players is how quickly battle ratings will need adjusting to keep the highest brackets from tipping out of balance.
