NTE: Neverness to Everness is only a few months into its global run, but it's already settling into a fast release rhythm. Since launching worldwide on April 29 on PC, mobile, PlayStation 5, and Mac, Hotta Studio's supernatural open-world RPG has pushed out a full version update roughly every month — and September is no exception.

Linko's banner and a new limited season

Version 1.3, subtitled Rising from the Moonlit Fog, landed on August 19 with a new district (Duskmoor), Zankou's dual-kit character release, and a batch of open-world activities including beach volleyball, jet skis, and gardening — the kind of lighter, life-sim content NTE has used to fill the space between combat-focused patches.

That update's follow-up content arrived on September 9, when the limited banner "Surfing All Channels!" went live featuring Linko and her new cosmetic skins, running alongside a rerun for Hotori, the easygoing shopkeeper of Eibon Antique Shop and one of the game's stronger Cosmos Support units. For players who missed her on release, it's the first meaningful chance to pick her up since launch.

Looking further out, the official Version 1.4 preview special program has already confirmed that most of that update's content is set to arrive on September 30 — meaning NTE will have shipped three distinct content beats (1.3, the Linko/Hotori banner, and 1.4) inside a six-week window.

The numbers behind the pace

That release cadence isn't happening in a vacuum. NTE crossed RMB 1.4 billion (roughly $195 million) in cumulative global gross revenue as of June 30 — just two months after its April 29 launch — putting it among the stronger open-world gacha debuts of the year. That kind of early performance tends to buy a studio room to keep the content pipeline full rather than stretch updates out, and Hotta Studio's schedule so far backs that up.

What's live or arriving this month, at a glance:

  • August 19 — Version 1.3 "Rising from the Moonlit Fog": Zankou's dual-kit, Duskmoor district, new social activities.
  • September 9 — Limited banner "Surfing All Channels!" (Linko debut) plus Hotori's rerun.
  • September 30 — Version 1.4 content, per the official preview program.

For a game still building its identity against a crowded field of open-world gacha titles, keeping banners, districts, and side content rotating this consistently is as much a retention strategy as a creative one — there's rarely a week where there isn't something new to log in for.

With 1.4 landing at the end of the month, NTE's real test is whether that pace holds once the post-launch honeymoon period fades — Hotta Studio has set an ambitious bar for itself, and September's schedule suggests it isn't slowing down yet.
