Raid's champion pool runs into the hundreds, so this list ranks by role and value across Campaign, Arena, Clan Boss, and Dungeons rather than trying to individually place every single champion. A champion that dominates Arena can be dead weight in Clan Boss, so treat these tiers as "value across the modes you'll actually play" — not a single universal ranking.

S-Tier

  • Kael — a free starter champion that stays relevant well past the early game; his kit scales into a genuine Clan Boss and Dungeon option, which is rare for a non-premium pull and the single best proof that kit design beats rarity in Raid.
  • Turn-meter control Legendaries — champions built around stunning, freezing, or draining enemy turn meter consistently outperform pure-damage picks, because they prevent damage instead of racing to out-damage it.
  • Multi-hit AoE Legendaries — the backbone of most serious Clan Boss and Dungeon teams; damage that scales with content difficulty instead of falling off.

A-Tier

  • Strong Epic-tier champions — several Epics outperform weaker Legendaries outright, especially early on when raw stats matter more than kit complexity.
  • Shield and revive support champions — not flashy, but they convert "almost cleared" runs into cleared runs, which matters more than extra damage in harder content.
  • Decrease Defense / Weaken debuffers — a near-mandatory role on serious Clan Boss teams; multiplicative damage boosts for the whole squad rather than a personal damage bump.

B-Tier

  • Single-target burst Rares/Epics — strong through early Campaign stages, increasingly replaced once multi-hit and AoE options unlock.
  • Pure-tank champions with no offensive utility — keep the team alive, but rarely help finish a fight faster, which caps their ceiling in timed or hard-enrage content.

C-Tier

  • Common-tier champions past the early game — fine for the first handful of Campaign stages, phased out almost immediately after.
  • Niche PvP-only kits with no PvE value — dominant in one specific Arena matchup, dead weight in Clan Boss, Dungeons, and Campaign alike.

The takeaway

Don't chase whatever champion is trending on social media — build around one strong AoE damage dealer, one debuffer, and one support first, since that trio covers most of Raid's PvE content. Kael staying viable for free is the clearest evidence in the game that team synergy and role coverage beat rarity every time.
